FEES AND COSTS 2010

This page has general information about our fees and the costs of studying at GEOS and in the UK. See our payment page for information on how, and what to pay. Remember that you can book online on this web site.

Your fee for studying at GEOS will be made up from:

Tuition Fees
Other Programme Fees for any English Plus programme (only if you are studying outside the school)
Enrolment Fee/CAS Visa fee
Accommodation Fees
Airport Transfer Fees

During your time a GEOS, there may be other charges, such as exam fees if you choose to purchase other services from us.

You will also be asked to pay a deposit for your course book on your first day at the school. This is returnable when you give us back you class book in good condition when you leave the school.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
There are no classes on public holidays: 2 April, 5 April, 3 May, 31 May, 30 August. We close from Monday 20 December and reopen on Monday 3 January 2011. All lessons are 45 minutes. 20 lessons = 15 hours in the mornings. 28 lessons = 21 hours in the mornings and afternoons; there are no lessons on Friday afternoons. Classes start at 09:00, Monday - Friday. Age range from 16 years (15 in summer); average age 23 (in summer the avarage age may be lower). Course fees must be paid in advance to qualify for lower prices for longer courses. In summer lessons may take place in suitable classrooms outside the school building. GEOS Accepts no liabilty for reasonable public transportation costs to and from these classrooms.

GEOS charges a £GBP 50 enrolment fee. If you require a General Student Visa will we add a £10 CAS fee to your invoice. If you need to take the Passport English test for your visa, we will add a £5 fee to your invoice.

Homestay / Private home accomodation costs £10 extra per week from 20th June to 28th August 2010. Shared room accomodation for adults is for friends or family only. Please arrive at your accommodation on Sunday and leave on Saturday. If students wish to pay monthly for accommodation, a 5% surcharge will be added to the accommodation cost. Payments must be made in advance. GEOS Brighton does not pay host families for students staying with their host families during the school's Christmas Closure. Student must pay host families directly.

Cancellations received less then 14 days before a course begins will be charged an administration fee of £200. Students who postpone 1 week or less before the start of their course will be charged 1 week's accomodation. Students who arrive after the start of the course, who are absent during the course, or leave before the end of the course receive no refund. If the school cancels a course a complete refund will be given. We recommend that all students have insurance.
