This programme is a “sandwich” course. It begins with an English programme and is followed by a period working in a hotel in the UK. You will then return to GEOS Brighton and Hove for a short English programme to complete your programme.
This programme is mostly for people who have experience of hotel or restaurant work or who are studying hospitality management. Other people may be able to apply if they have relevant experience.
The hotels are all over Britain, but not in Brighton & Hove or London. About 60% of placements are in Scotland and the Lake District. You may go to a big hotel or possibly a small, family-run hotel.
Students from the European Union or EEA don’t need a visa. Students who need a visa can take this programme provided the work placement is part of a sandwich course. For example:
• 8 weeks English language study
• 12 weeks work placement
• 4 weeks language study
Students from countries like Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Thailand and Taiwan can obtain visas for this kind of programme.
